What WWE Needs to Do on the Final Raw before WrestleMania 30

The past few weeks have flown by and WrestleMania is only six days away. That means tonight is the go homeshow. The final episode of Monday Night Raw before the biggest show of the year. The last chance for WWE to make the audience want to order the PPV.

This means that WWE needs to deliver in every aspect tonight. They must have a strong show as it is their last big opportunity to sell the PPV to the WWE Universe. There are several things in particular that must be accomplished tonight in order to properly finish the build towards WrestleMania.

The first thing WWE needs to do is to make Brock Lesnar look as strong as possible. The last few weeks have consisted of Taker getting the upperhand. No one is going to pay just to see Taker beat another opponent. They've seen that 21 times already. Make Lesnar look as if he can beat the streak. If the audience doesn't think Brock has any chance of breaking the streak, they won't be inclined to order the show and see what happens because it would seemingly be predictable. WWE could do this simply by

PWG Mystery Vortex II Match Card (Non Spoiler)

Last night, PWG held Mystery Vortex II. For those who don't know, that means the whole card is a mystery. While no one knew the card, a lot of people knew that Kevin Steen nor Drake Younger would be there. It was sure to be an interesting night as some new talent was rumored to debut. So after following along with various people on Twitter who were at the show, I've put together a complete non-spoiler match listing. It is as follows.

  • Cedric Alexander vs. Andrew Everett vs. Trevor Lee
  • Rockness Monsters & Peter Avalon vs. Joey Ryan, B-Boy, & Willie Mack
  • Roderick Strong vs. Tony Nese
  • ACH & AR Fox vs. Rich Swann & Ricochet vs. Brian Cage & Michael Elgin
  • Chris Hero vs. Tomasso Ciampa
  • Kyle O'Reilly vs. Johnny Gargano
  • The Young Bucks (c) vs. Chuck Taylor & Trent? - PWG Tag Team Title Match
  • Adam Cole (c) vs. Candice LeRae - PWG World Championship Match

Indy Power Rankings: Tag Team Top 5 for the Week of March 24th

Tag Team Top 5 for the Week of March 24th, 2014: Promotion Wars

1.       The Hooligans (Devin & Mason Cutter)-The fat, flippy, bearded bullies did what they do best over the weekend. Compete and win. With 3 shows in 3 states and 5 matches overall, their drive to succeed paid off this week. They had a weekend record of 4-1 at Strong Style Wrestling (a loss to the Pain Killers), Pro Wrestling Glory (3 wins to win the Glory Tag Team Tournament), and THW. Very few teams are as motivated to succeed as them and this week was just one more example of that fact. #3 in the online poll with 57 votes.

2.       The Decade (Roderick Strong, BJ Whitmer, & Jimmy Jacobs)-The former #1’s in the Tag Team Top 5 scored yet another victory over the weekend as they defeated Adrenaline RUSH & Caprice Coleman on 3/22. They are 3-0 as a 3 man team since forming. Whitmer & Jacobs are 4-1 as a team since reforming. Overall they are 7-1 (7-0 in ROH) since becoming a stable.

Indy Power Rankings for the Week of March 24th, 2014

Indy Power Rankings for the Week of March 24th, 2014

  1. Ricochet-4 out of 5 weeks at #1! Unprecedented success for “The Future of Flight” as he is now #1 for the 4th time in 5 weeks. His record on his current overseas tour is an ASTOUNDING 20-2. 20 wins. 2 losses. Unbelievable. Over the weekend he knocked off Kris Travis and Josh Bodom in the UK to continue his dominance. Once again, indeed, hail to the king. #8 in the online poll with 28 votes.

  1. Michael Elgin-After being unranked last week the “Unbreakable” one ran off a string of wins like only he can. Last year’s #1 in the IPR 100 went on a run where he tagged with Ethan Page to retain the AAW Tag Team Titles vs. OI4K, then defeated Cedric Alexander in singles at ROH, before polishing off the weekend with a victory over Jimmy Jacobs at Beyond Wrestling.

WWE Monday Night Raw Review - March 24th, 2014

WWE Monday Night Raw Review - March 24th, 2014
Stephanie McMahon opens the show and builds up Triple H and what he did last week. She is interrupted by Randy Orton. Batista soon comes out as well. Stephanie ends up slapping Batista and then Batista spears Orton. Pretty pointless opening segment, but decent none the less.

1) Dolph Ziggler vs. Christian vs. Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio - #1 Cont. Match for the IC Title

Fatal Four Way matches don't happen that often in WWE anymore, so this was sure to be a treat. These four guys put everything they had into this match and it showed. The crowd was hot throughout the whole match and made it feel super important. That helped the match a lot. Beyond the crowd, the action was great. Ziggler & Del Rio put on an outstanding match on Smackdown a few weeks back as did Sheamus and Christian so when you put all four of them together, it's no surprise that it would be as outstanding as this was. This match led the New York crowd to chant "This is Awesome!" That's all that needs to be said. Great match.

Match rating - 8/10

2) Damien Sandow vs. Sin Cara

After one hell of an opening match, the silliness begins as Scooby Doo arrives with Sin Cara. This segment gets even more dumb as Sin Cara beats Sandow in less than three minutes.

ROH TV Review - March 22nd, 2014

ROH TV Review - March 22nd, 2014
1) Roderick Strong, Jimmy Jacobs, and BJ Whitmer vs. Adrenaline Rush & Andrew Everett

This match pitted the team of veterans, The Decade, against the new comers in Adrenaline Rush and Andrew Everett. Despite the difference in experience, Adrenaline Rush & Everett hung right there with The Decade throughout the whole match. With the names involved, I'm sure you expected this to be crazy and that's exactly what it was. Andrew Everett showed his unbelievable agility on several occasions and ACH hit one of the highest flips in the air that I've ever seen. I was also impressed by Thomas who hit a lot of impressive moves during this match. I already knew how great the team of Jacobs, Strong, and Whitmer were, but in this match I found out that Adrenaline Rush & Andrew Everett are indeed on their way to being just as good. Awesome opening match.

Match rating - 8/10

2) The Romantic Touch vs. RD Evans (w/Veda Scott)

Evans' undefeated streak is still intact and in his words has become "The New Streak". That streak continued tonight on ROH TV as he defeated Romantic Touch via countout. This was a fun match that ended when Romantic Touch chased Veda under the ring and didn't make it back into the ring before being counted out.

WWE Main Event Review - March 19th, 2014

WWE Main Event Review - March 19th 2014
1) Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs. Jack Swagger & Antonio Cesaro

Every time these two teams step foot in the ring they produce quality matches and this was no exception. It was a great back and forth tag team match with a lot of action. It seems that Cody and Goldust have added that double dive move they used on Raw a few weeks ago to their normal moveset. That's a good thing because it's always fun to see. Cody & Goldust get the win over the Americans in a very competitive match. It was also announced beforehand that there would be a Fatal Four Way Tag Match to determine the #1 Contender to the Tag Team Titles on Smackdown this week featuring The Shield, Real Americans, 3MB, and Rybaxel. Looking forward to that. The tag team division in WWE is hot right now.

Indy Power Rankings: Tag Team Top 5 for the Week of March 17th

Tag Team Top 5 for the Week of March 17th, 2014

1.       Team IOU (Kerry Awful & Nick Iggy)-A boy and his dog pull do it on back to back weeks! Their win vs. Mayhem was big, but they arguably didn’t have the biggest weekend of any of the candidates. The voters went with the incumbent this week as no one did enough to knock them from their perch this week. No one can argue with how successful they have been, not having lost a match since February 22nd, 2014. The NWA Southern Tag Team Champions don’t look like they’re slowing down any time soon. #3 in the online poll.

2.       The Hooligans (Devin & Mason Cutter)-These bearded bullies took their fat flippy style and defended their SNPW Tag Team Titles once again on 3/15 and once again came out on top. This time they defeated Jake Dirden and Brandon Espinosa. They have picked up a ton of momentum recently and with shows in 3 different states coming up this weekend, a clean sweep could easily land them in the #1 spot next week. #2 in the online poll.

WrestleMania Rewind: WrestleMania 26 DVD Review

WWE WrestleMania 26 DVD Review

1) The Miz & Big Show vs. John Morrison & R-Truth
Fun match to start the show. Nice seeing these two teams compete again even if it was in a quick fast paced opener. Thinking back on it, the tag team division wasn't that bad during this time. I honestly had totally forgot that Show & Miz had teamed together. They came to the ring carrying loads of gold as the tag team titles had recently been unified so they had two belts a piece, plus The Miz was US Champion at the time. This was your typical opening match that served its purpose of getting the crowd warmed up.

Match rating - 6/10

2) Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Ted DiBiase

Indy Power Rankings for the Week of March 17th

Indy Power Rankings for the Week of March 17th, 2014

  1. Chris Hero-The EVOLVE Champion gets his first #1 ranking in the Indy Power Rankings on the strength of his 4 victories in the wXw 16 Carat Gold Tournament on 3/14, 3/15, and 3/16. With wins over Freddy Stahl, Karsten Beck, Adam Cole (last week’s #3), and Axel Tischer, the voters were split on if Hero had the overall body of work in 2014 (wins and losses) to get the #1, but in the end, “The Knockout Artist” won out. #3 in the online poll.

  1. Caleb Konley-“Caleb got robbed!” Several of the voters voiced this outcry but to no avail. After weeks in the Indy Power Rankings, the PWX and WrestleForce Champion falls just short of getting the #1 this week, despite 3 wins at PWX over the weekend. With wins vs. the CZW Wired TV Champion Shane Strickland, Chip Day, and Jake Manning, the incumbent #2 would have easily been the #1 on most weeks, but Hero’s impressive performance in 16 Carat Gold got the nod. Caleb has been consistently ranked for more than a month. When will his time come again at #1? #9 in the online poll.

  1. Drew Gulak-The CZW World Champion shoots up the rankings this week after 2 more successful title defenses. He took his title down to Florida and defended it twice at FIP vs. Timothy Thatcher and Roderick Strong. Both times he came out on top. He continues his march towards #1 again…for a better CZW.

  1. Ricochet-The Dragon Gate Open the Dream Gate Champion added gold to his collection this week, but unfortunately for him, lost it the next day. He went 2-2 this week in tag team action with Rich Swann to make his overseas total 18-2 on this tour of Japan and Europe. He and Swann won the RPW Tag Team Titles and defeated The Young Bucks before losing them to The Kartel on 3/16. It was an amazing run at #1 for Ricochet, but he has not fallen out of the Top 10 just yet. Indeed, hail to the king. #10 in the online poll.

WWE Monday Night Raw Review - March 17th, 2014

WWE Monday Night Raw Review - March 17th, 2014

The show began with an in-ring segment featuring Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista. Fantastic mic work from Triple H throughout the whole thing and he announces that at WrestleMania there will be a Triple Threat match regardless of who wins his match with Daniel Bryan because if he wins, he'll be in the match! So Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H is now basically a #1 Contender's Match. Great segment and a good way to add more emotion and high stakes to the Bryan/HHH match.

1) The Usos vs. Jack Swagger & Cesaro
Wow! Awesome way to start the show with a phenomenal tag team match. The Usos were entertaining as always and The Real Americans held their own against the highflyers. Zeb Colter must have done some work with his guys because Swagger & Cesaro were totally on the same page and put in a impressive performance here.

ROH TV Review - March 15th, 2014

ROH TV Review - March 15th, 2014
by Ethan Lewis

1) Hanson & Rowe vs. Team Benchmark

Here we have the debut of two new teams to start the show. Hanson and Rowe were the finalists of the Top Prospect tournament earlier this year and Team Benchmark consists of Will Ferrera and Bill Daily. This was a pretty quick match, but was fun while it lasted. Hanson and Rowe continued to impress me individually and on top of that they worked very well as a team.

Match rating - 6/10

After the match, Michael Elgin comes to the ring to confront Hanson and Rowe. Elgin endorses both men and says they've earned his respect. Elgin then proceeds to form an alliance with the two and they agree to have Elgin's back during his future match with Adam Cole.

2) Kevin Steen vs. Homicide

This match came about when Kevin Steen was in the ring and called out Cliff Compton, but got Homicide and Eddie Kingston instead. The two began jawing back and forth then it escalated into a brawl which led to Nigel McGuinness making this match.

TNA Impact Wrestling Review - March 13th, 2014

TNA Impact Wrestling Review - March 13th, 2014

The show started with MVP in the ring discussing how he would be running things since he is now in charge. He is soon interrupted by the TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus who introduces everyone to his new friend, Abyss. MVP then brings out Samoa Joe who has a bone to pick with both men. MVP announces that next week Joe will get his rematch against Magnus for the World Title.

1) Samoa Joe vs. Abyss
This impromptu match begins as Joe spears down Abyss during the opening segment. Joe did a great job of selling the beating he took at Lockdown. Even though he was selling the injury, he put in an enjoyable performance. He hit many of his signature moves although Abyss dominated the most part of the match. Abyss went otuside and picked up Janice. Before he could use Janice, Eric Young runs down and hits a flying dropkick on Abyss which causes a DQ. Decent match, but was mainly used to further storylines.

2) Gail Kim vs. Brittany
This was the debut of Brittany in TNA. The match didn't last long so I wasn't able to see what she is really capable of in the ring.

WrestleMania Rewind: WrestleMania 22 DVD Review

I normally post DVD Reviews on my other blog (http://wrestlingdvdreview.blogspot.com), but if you read the site news and announcements, you saw that March will be WrestleMania Rewind month here on Pro Wrestling Truth. This means I will be reviewing a WrestleMania each week until WrestleMania 30 and posting it to the site. This edition features WrestleMania 22!

The show starts with Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child singing the national anthem. She did a great job. This is followed by a phenomenal video package highlighting moments from all the past WrestleMania's. "I Dare You" by Shinedown was used for the package and it fit so well with it. After this a video package airs highlighting all the major feuds going into the show. Those being Undertaker/Henry, HBK/McMahon, Angle/Mysterio/Orton, and Cena/Triple H. Another wonderful video package that reminded why I loved this event so much.

1) Kane & Big Show vs. Carlito & Chris Masters - WWE Tag Team Championship Match
A Tag Team Title match opens the show! Carlito & Masters come out to a decent reaction. Next out were the champions, Big Show & Kane. I forgot how awesome Big Show & Kane's morphed theme song was. Loved their entrance. The match gets started and the crowd was mainly behind Show/Kane, although a "Carlito" chant broke out at one point in the match. Carlito was one of my favorite wrestlers to watch at this time and he put in a solid performance here. The match started off kind of slow, but picked up after a bit. Big Show picked up Carlito over his head and threw him to the outside onto Masters which gave Kane the opportunity to ascend to the top turnbuckle and jump off onto both Master and Carlito. Cool spot. Another good move in this match was when Chris Masters countered Kane's attempt to jump on him off the top turnbuckle into a MasterLock. Overall it was a fun match. Nothing special, but it was enjoyable and started the show off on a good note.

Match rating - 7/10

2) Matt Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Ric Flair vs. Finlay vs. Bobby Lashley - Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Money in the Bank matches are always fun and this was no exception. On paper, Shelton Benjamin and Rob Van Dam look to be the guys that will be doing some crazy stuff in a match like this and that certainly was the case.

WWE Monday Night Raw Review - March 10th, 2014

WWE Monday Night Raw Review - March 10th, 2014

The show starts with Hulk Hogan and his special announcement. He announces the first ever Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal for WrestleMania 30. I like the idea as it will be a good way to get some talent on the show that would otherwise miss it, but it will still seem special as there is trophy for the winner. Cool idea. Before Hogan leaves, Cena comes to the ring. This wasn't a surprise as they always put Cena in the position to kiss up to legends and guests on the show. Cena and Hogan are interrupted by the Wyatt Family. Bray cuts a FANTASTIC promo on Cena and Hogan. I like the guy more and more each week. So talented.

1) John Cena vs. Erick Rowan
This match lasted every bit of five minutes. Cena got the abrupt pin with a roll up, if I remember correctly. Didn't like the abrupt finish nor the fact that Harper didn't face Cena like originally planned.

Match rating - **1/4

2) The Usos vs. Ryback & Curtis Axel
Some may accuse me of overrating this match, but The Usos are so fun to watch. They meshed very well with Ryback & Axel although this match only went around 10 minutes, if that. Good stuff none the less.

Match rating - ***

3) Big E vs. Jack Swagger
These two had a great match at Elimination Chamber, but WWE has since ruined it by placing them in matches ever since just to further the tension between Swagger and Cesaro. Same thing happened here as Cesaro didn't interfere to help Swagger when Big E rolled him up for the win. After the match was quite funny though.

ROH TV Review - March 8th, 2014

ROH TV Review - March 8th, 2014

Last week on ROH TV, they aired the first part of the 12th Anniversary Show. This week, they aired the second part of the 12th Anniversary show which was headlined by Adam Cole vs. Chris Hero for the ROH World Championship!

1) Matt Taven vs. Silas Young

I had heard a lot about Silas Young, but never seen him compete and needless to say, I was impressed. Taven is an outstanding talent himself, but is less experienced than Young. Other than that these two are pretty equal. Althought they have different styles, they meshed very well here. Young has a physical, hard hitting style while Taven has a more highflying, fast paced style. Taven and Young put on a great match here. Awesome way to start the show!

Match rating - 7.75/10

2) Tomasso Ciampa vs. Hanson - ROH TV Championship Match

Hanson won the 2014 Top Prospect tournament a few weeks ago which earned himself a TV Title match. Ciampa being the aggressive guy he is charged in the ring and got right in Hanson's face from the start. The two men followed the Code of Honor before going at it in a very physical match.

TNA Lockdown 2014: Preview, Predictions, & Analysis

TNA Lockdown 2014 Preview & Predictions
Lockdown is coming up and it's a pretty awesome looking card. Every match will be contested inside the steel cage so that's just an added bonus. It looks to be a great night of wrestling. I'm honestly more excited for it than I am WrestleMania (so far).

1) Manik vs. Tigre Uno
This match should be FANTASTIC. For those who don't know, Manik wrestles under his real name, TJ Perkins in companies such as PWG and he's amazing. Tigre Uno is nothing short of great as well so seeing these two styles clashing should be fun to watch. Expecting a really good match here. Loving how the X Division is seemingly growing again. As far as who will win, it's a tough choice as this feud hasn't been built up, but I'm gonna go with Tigre Uno. Maybe TNA will start a storyline where Manik keeps trying to beat Uno, but can't.

Who I think will win: Tigre Uno

2) Mr. Anderson vs. Samuel Shaw
I really like the way the Anderson/Shaw feud has been built up. They've turned Shaw into this creepy character which is quite interesting.

WWE Main Event Review - March 5th, 2014

WWE Main Event Review - March 5th, 2014

1) Daniel Bryan vs. Kane
The show opened with this match between Daniel Bryan and Kane. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much here, but Bryan and Kane proved me wrong. They put on a great match that was much better than I thought it would be. There were alot of a counters, reversals, and near falls. It lasted around 20 minutes which definitely played into their favor. Bryan and Kane's previous match on Raw wasn't good and I think that it was because of time restraints and because Kane dominated the majority of the match. This time around, Bryan and Kane got much more time and it definitely wasn't one sided. It resulted in a great match.

WWE Monday Night Raw Review - March 3rd, 2014

WWE Monday Night Raw Review - March 3rd, 2014
CM Punk's music hits to open the show. I had been awaiting his return so I immediately jumped out of my seat, only to see Paul Heyman walk out to huge boos. Brilliant move by WWE putting Heyman in this role. Heyman proceeds to sit in the middle of the ring and tells Chicago who is already chanting "CM Punk" to chant it louder. At this point, I'm thinking - wait a minute, is Punk back with Heyman?! Heyman then says he is going to give a pipebomb on why CM Punk left and throws a huge swerve by saying the reason Punk left is because of the fans. After this, Heyman transitions the subject of his promo to Brock Lesnar. Heyman says that he wants to conquer The Undertaker's streak and that Brock Lesnar is the only man to do it. Heyman introduces Lesnar and they are soon confronted by Mark Henry. Lesnar beats the shit out of Henry and F5's him through the announce table. Awesome opening to Raw. Heyman was gold on the mic and told a great story. Lesnar did his job in providing an exciting action packed start to the show.

1) New Age Outlaws vs. The Usos - WWE Tag Team Championship Match
I was really looking forward to this match as I felt it was finally The Usos' time to shine. One thing that worried me was how the crowd would act. Luckily, they didn't chant for Punk once during this bout. Instead they got heavily behind The Usos. This was a great match with The Usos' impressive moveset being the highlight. The Usos FINALLY win the tag team titles here by defeating the New Age Outlaws! Amazing moment! The crowd popped big for that one!

Fantasy Booking: The Rest of 2014 in WWE + 2015 Road To WrestleMania

UPDATE: As of July 26th, 2014 - I've recently posted an updated Fantasy Booking article on SummerSlam through WrestleMania 31. Click here to check it out! Feel free to read this one as well, but if you want one that's updated based on current storylines and character changes, check out my newest post! Thanks for reading!

Being the wrestling addict that I am, I always tend to come up with fantasy storylines and theories on how I would book things. That's where this Fantasy Booking article comes into play. I don't even know if I should call it an article because of how long it is, it's more like a story. So make sure you have a good bit of time before you dive in.

In this edition, I will be Fantasy Booking the rest of 2014 in WWE along with the Road To WrestleMania in 2015. I will be including full cards for every PPV from WrestleMania 30 all the way up to WrestleMania 31 based on how I would book it. And by every PPV, I mean EVERY PPV. Full storylines will be included as well.

My last series of articles, "Change Time In WWE" is part of what inspired me to write this article as I feel that this would be a wonderful way for WWE to push some new talent over the next year. The way I have fantasy booked the next year features intriguing storylines and potentially classic match-ups that I think WWE should arrange. Things featured in this fantasy booking article include the debuts of Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville, Solomon Crowe, Judas Devlin, Mason Ryan and Paige as well as the returns of Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam, and The Rock. Several young stars also recieve huge pushes including Cesaro and Cody Rhodes. On top of that several big storylines occur including the reformation of Evolution, Paul Heyman forming a stable, and a group of disgruntled superstars looking to make a name for themselves.

I hope you will enjoy reading this rollercoaster ride of a column. I booked things here in a unbiased way. Obviously these are ideas I came up with and I have my own opinion on why certain stars should be pushed, but I am also logical. I don't just choose to book things a certain why because I like a certain someone. I book them the way I do because I feel it would be best for business.

Enough of me talking. This article is long enough as it is, so let's get started.

Build Towards WrestleMania 30
At Elimination Chamber, Big E defeated Jack Swagger to retain his Intercontinental Championship after a hard fought battle with the Real American. It was Big E's best match since debuting on the main roster and kicked the show off in awesome fashion. The next night on Raw, Cesaro had an equally great match with Big E which ended via DQ after Swagger interfered. Cesaro and Swagger started arguing and we saw tension begin to build between the two. I say make it a triple threat match for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania, pitting Big E against Cesaro and Swagger. I would continue to tease Swagger and Cesaro breaking up, but don't have it officially happen until during the match at WrestleMania.

ROH TV Review - March 1st, 2014

ROH TV Review - March 1st, 2014

Michael Elgin opens the show with a promo about how Matt Hardy couldn't make it tonight so he had to choose another opponent. He talks about how ROH gives young wrestlers a chance and thats why he chose a talent that is new to ROH, Raymond Rowe.

1) Michael Elgin vs. Raymond Rowe

Solid opening match between Elgin and Rowe. If given more time it could have been much better, but this was good for what it was. Elgin gave Rowe a pretty bad beating including powerbombing him into the railing. Rowe kept coming back, but in the end the veteran Michael Elgin came out victorious.

Match rating - 6/10

2) Jay Briscoe vs. Michael Bennett

This all started when Adam Cole attacked Michael Elgin after his match. Mike Bennett joined in on the beatdown which brought out Jay Briscoe. Briscoe went after Bennett with a series of hardhitting moves such as suplexing him on the entrance ramp. The action finally got back in the ring where Briscoe and Bennett trading various manuevers.
